With sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Chaim Rizel, ob"m, the mythological grocery store owner from Lod. R' Chaim was 91 years old, and resided in Bnei Brak in his later years, after receiving a horoa from the Rebbe. He was the son of Vishnitzer chassidim, a Holocaust survivor, and a descendant of the Vilna Gaon. Settling in Lod, he opened a grocery store adjacent to the yeshiva. Hundreds of Tmimim have fond memories of R' Chaim from the early years in Lod, until 5740.
R' Chaim was predeceased r'l by his son R' Yisroel, his daughter Esther Rubin, and his wife Leah Henia, ob"m. He is survived by his extended family, among them Shluchim of the Rebbe.
The levaye will take place tonight in Bnei Brak.
