Several hundred hearing-impaired gathered before Pesach at a big A.I.M.M.E.S (Israelite Association for the Hearing Impaired, Mutes and Deaf) conference in the synagogue of the Seminary Israelite of France, in the presence of the Chief Rabbi of France, Giles Bernheim, the Chief Rabbi of Paris Alain Goldmann, the chairwoman of the ASJF Celine Hayat, the president of ACSJF Dimitri Portnoï.
Tomim Isser Lubecki, of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Toronto, Canada, introduced a video of Yehoshua Soudakoff with French subtitles and in simultaneous translation in sign language on a giant screen.
Mrs Martine Obadia, the secretary of A.I.M.M.E.S was the organizer of this unique conference. Shliach Rabbi Marosow, Rabbi Chaim Lubecki and son HaTomim Isser helped the male participants put on Tfillin.
