In this talk given at an event celebrating the 110 years since the Rebbe's birth and the 30th cycle of the daily learning of Rambam in S. Paulo Brazil, Rabbi Avrohom Shemtov, senior Shliach of the Rebbe, shares the fascinating story of his involvement in a particular operation to release a large number of Jews from Soviet Russia.

He tells the inside story of what transpired behind the walls of the Oval Office, ultimately resulting in the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s message giving President Ronald Regan the strength to demand the actual release of Jews from the Soviet Union, as opposed to just relying on Soviet promises that it would eventually be done.
